25 Years a Gamer

I have been playing RPG’s ever since I was 13 years old. My dad introduced me to Dungeons and Dragons 3rd edition as I was entering middle school and was my game master until I left for college. For the past 19 years I have been running TTRPG games for different groups of friends across many systems. I first created the campaign setting of Northgate in 2019 when I started running the Zweihander: Grim and Perilous RPG for my group.

End of an Era

For years I have wanted to do something with my creation. To spread the love I have for RPG’s in general and to share my creation with others who may wish to use a campaign setting other than those published by large companies that have gone soulless, or for systems that don’t have many options for settings such as Zweihander. When I lost my dad to cancer earlier this year it was devastating. My first GM, avid player, wonderful father, and biggest fan could no longer share in the adventures that we laughed and talked about for years. So it is in his memory that I have decided to make my first steps toward a long-term dream, a reality.

7 Years of Northgate

For the last 7 years and across 3 campaigns, my RPG group has forged over almost one hundred in-game years of history. With our 4th campaign kicking off at the end of July 2026, we begin a new chapter in the history of the setting and add the third map of the northern kingdoms for the first time.

The Road Ahead

My hope is that this page will allow me to spread my love of TTRPG’s, provide advice for other GM’s, share my low fantasy setting with others and find other likeminded enthusiasts, all while remembering those who came before us. The legends that created the hobby, other enterprising creators who continually push the hobby forward, and the friends and loved ones we have all met and lost along the way in our ever-continuing adventures.
